Looking for new HU, Have any ideas?

Right now the HU I am using only has 1 preout, so I am in need of a new one with 3 preouts and some more audio options.

I am interested in front USB, or rear...doesn't really matter I guess. An EQ like a 3-band or something. All I really need is a bass/mid/trebble EQ so I can set my own user preference.

5 Volt one be nice since I will be using 2 amps soon for front components and 1 12" sub.

Does anyone know how good USB works on the Eclipse CD5030? I am interested on how fast it reads and if it will remember where it last played when the car gets turned off.

And if you can make your own user preference EQ.

I have the eclipse, it reads my ipod very quickly so I can only assume it will do the same for a thumb drive (thumb drive speed may influence that) no idea if it remembers where it left off on a thumb drive but it does on my ipod. You can set you own user preferred Eq's

Yeah I never really used a parametric EQ on a deck before so I am not sure how easy it is to use.

Does the deck come with the mic or do I have to buy it?

Mic for bluetooth or for tuning? It comes with the bluetooth, you need to buy the tuning mic separate

Ah ok, I am trying to decide between 2 decks.

the Eclipse CD5030 & the JVC KD-R900

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17639_JVC+KD-R900.html

The only thing I am worried about is the 7band eq on the 5030, I don't have any experience using an EQ like this so I am not sure how hard it is to set up.

And if the USB works good, you said the Ipod feature works great so it should be the same for usb.

personally I think the eclipse is the way to go over the jvc.
Look up the Eq its really easy (basically can turn up or down frequency's to make the sound you want)
I like it flat so I dont touch it. There is a basic loudness control (boosts low and high frequency's) which a lot of people like the sound of.

Cool, thanks for the info. I might order the deck next week. I will sell my JVC and get the Eclipse, I need it because of the 3-preouts and a 7band EQ would be nice.

Are there any presets for the EQ?

there are like 5 or 6, they come preset but you can save them as you own
I am surprised no one else has chimed in on this thread to help you out, I am only answering based on what I know and my experiences with it, I am sure someone like rob could contribute a lot more.

One thing that bothered about my JVC is getting to the sub volume level was too slow, you have to hold menu and go to audio and then sub volume.

I think with the Eclipse you just keep hitting enter until you get to sub volume and turn the *** to what you want.

I've been reading a lot about the Eclipse and I think it would be good with my front components, the precision power 6.5, and a 12" infinty kappa sub. No rear speakers of course, that's just extra money and rear speakers will be useless to me.

I would like to chime in sometimes, other times though it is best left to the forum. In this case he is getting first hand reliable information. Hopefully he will go with this cd player and contact me when he wants one. (back in stock today I think).
