Hi, I'm looking for a SQ deck with no bells and whistles. All I need in a good display, one preout and most importantly GOOD SQ. I don't need an internal amp, EQ, crossovers or anything.(I have an external EQ and line driver) Ability to play MP3's would be nice but is not required. I would like to go Alpine but it doesn't matter. Any suggestions?? Thanks

The Eclipse 3414 fits your requirements. It lists for US$199(has 2 sets of pre outs and plays mp3s).

I have scanned the 04 eclipse cd head unit brochure and put it on my SD page(page 4 has the brochure, and page 5 has some pics from CES taken by others). Eclipse's site isn't updated yet with the 04 decks, so I figured it would be helpful for those who wanted to check them out.

definatly eclipse. ive got the 5443 and its amazing. I switched to a high end pioneer (forget model number) but the quality difference was unbelievable.

 

I've been very happy with my Nakamichi CD-400.. Sounds fantastic, and it doesnt get much more plain than that [img]smile.gif[/img]

 

The Eclipse CD3434 looks pretty good. Any idea where I could get one online for a smoking price. Ebay can be such a b*tch for international shipping. Thanks alot guys

 

That deck retails for US$299. It is essentially the 3424 only with a motorized face afaik. Do you have any eclipse dealers near you, and if so, have they received any of the 04 stock yet?

The shop here has the 3414s and 3424s in. I am not sure if they have any 3434s or not.

Given your criteria for a deck, you would be paying for things you didn't need/want with the 3434(unless you do want a motorized face???)

What about waiting for the new 5 series mp3 deck, I think that would be a much better option.
