As the title says I need something for my Kappa Perfect's, man they are power hungry
Right now I am running them of an RF301x 4ch bridged too 2ch. I want big power to match the comp's. The only criteria is that it has to have a small foot print Right now my RF amp is under the passenger seat and fits fine with one end cap left off. The new amp will be a direct replacement. Suggest away!!!! Rob.......... [ July 14, 2004, 08:36 PM: Message edited by: Mullen ] |
Would you have any tpe of mesurements to help find the right sized amplifier? Have you checked out the 500bd or 1000bd (or equivalent) models from RF? How much money are you ready to spend? You could go Mmats class d, Us amps class DE, MTX class D

memphis 1400.1 small package tons of jam

I think he wants an amp to run his components with, am I wrong?
|
i think it's for Infinity Kappa perfect component not sub so class d is not a good choice. The new Infinity amp REF7520A or JBL GTO75.22x97wmrs@4ohm

Blaupunkt makes some full range class T amps that are very effecient and small.... I'd take a look at those!

hm - here is my logic. The RF amp puts out decent power for it's footprint and you have it double bridged already, maximizing power per square inch.
I'd be surprised if you find another amp that makes substantially more power for the same footprint I'd start looking for a new amp location.. |
Blaupunkt doesn't amke those Class T amps anymore but you can get crazy deals on ebay for some refurbs. Even new sometimes. They got for roughly $100US

I would agree with Dukk on that. Unless you were to get two 2-channel amps and bridge them for 4 ohm operation (sick power mind you...), and put one on the driver side and the other on the passenger side, a bridged four channel is pretty hard to top.
But then again, you could probably fit 2 2-channel amps AND a sub box under his seats, as long as the box is ported, right Dukk? |
