I'd like to remind everyone that the US has developed and patented more technologies than any other country in the world.

Pretty smart people.

The "US" system is a carryover from the BRITISH Empire.

This is getting embarasing John...I think I'm going to hide now.

but when a large part of the US scientists were formerly Canadians, that were looking for work, that skews the numbers lots. But anyway, what I learned about magnets, from HI-FI stereos, is that NeFe+ is the best, since it offers incredible strength, without offering high amounts of frequency inductance like ceramic magnets. Cobalt is good too. NeFe+ is very very expensive, so you hardly ever see it on Car audio subs, only VERY high end speakers like Scan-Speak, DynAudio and Wilson Audio Etc.

Hey Livin Loud, I was just doing some research on Treo, those are frickin' amazing subs WOW!!!! an 18 only needs a 61 liter (2.15 cu.ft) sealed box to have an F3 of 42 hertz. That is SO low, and loud too, and it can take 6000 watts of power, for eons before any problems (might) occur. WOW, that is one heck of a sub, what kind of magnet does it have, and you said you have one? is it the CSX series?

yes i have 2 of the cxs woofers. they are 12 inch subs right now, but with the 18inch magnets on them!

not to sure about the type of magnet... but they are HUGE.

they are pretty damned good subs to. but they also get alot of critizism, because they don't hold up to well being played at anything below 60hz really. they are most efficent in high freq setups, like SS and extreme setups, and wil take load of power to.

Now i thinka few companies have surpassed treo in the SPL world. like DD, and RE now... but who knows. i heard treo has a new crazy crazy woofer coming out !!

Its not the size that counts its how you use it. To many people only look at the magnet weight, not stregnth. A good strong magnet should have a BL product of over 20. Subs like the DD 9500 and 9900 series have a BL rating over 30(wow!). Even a soloX is only between 22-26.

Does anyone know the BL on the treo csx?
