I had thought about sanding and painting it... Maybe Airbrushing it but in the end decided on carpet.
I couldn't actually find real speaker fabric so I went and got some soft stuff. It's almost like felt but not.

To attach it, I sprayed a lite covering of that brake spray glue and laid the fabric over it. Cut out the hole and pushed in the fabric. After cutting the posts of the screen, the fabric gives the screen a nice tight hold.

I drilled a hole in this so I could add a power switch for the screen.

I didn't carpet the whole unit because it was form fitted to the glove box. The fabric that does go inside the edges of the glovebox, holes everything nice and tight.

The switch I added had 3 posts on the bottom because it has a light on it. When it's on the red light turns on too. I don't know why I did it this way, but I did. it was a nice tight fit.

The motherboard has volume, color, tint, brighness controls so I set them up and hooked it all up in the back. I hotglued this in place so it wouldn't move around on bumpy roads and the hotglue I used isn't conductive.

Put the screen in place and cut a hole in the back to run the wires.

Test fit in the glovebox

And of course... In the car.

And the part I really like... Lockable and stealth.

Since then I also ran a wire from the back of the screen and the motherboard to the glovebox and the glovebox to the car itself so it's covered by insurrance. (If you have to use a tool to get it out of the car, it's insurred. I've also glued broken razor blades to the back of the screen in case someone actually does try to take it. DNA match up. But that is just part of the security system I've been developing on my car.

The angle on the screen and the quality of the screen make it so on a sunny day, only the passenger and the back seat can see the screen clearly. Which deters me from watching it while driving. Which is a good thing. But I tend to use this while waiting for people to show up or for people I'm with to get out of the store I took them to.

I like to be on time as much as possible so I'm usually 15-20mins early for everything just so I'm there.

In future work, I think I'm going to use a better quality screen and maybe put it where my rear view mirror is and run some more cameras. If I can get hooked up I might even put in the car monitoring system for Fuel/boost and stuff like that right on my rear view. But that's thinking big and for the future.

Next Steps:
I my buddy won 2 G2 10" bostons off ebay for dirt cheap, but had just bought a G5 for his car so I'm buying those 2 subs off him. I'm putting them into the smaller sub box style of boston which will take up less room in the trunk.

So I'm going to build an amp rack to center it in the trunk, And get rid of that heavy plywood and sell off the rockford pro-punch subs in the tuned ported box. The thing weighs close to 250lbs and I get tire rub in the back passenger side corner. The lighter box with improved subs, should give me better handling and allow for the bass to pass into the front cab better.

Look for this stuff coming this summer.

Awesome looking for a first try man. I hope my first attempt at F/G is this nice. Just make sure if you ever get pulled over you have the glove box shut. The whole screen visible to driver stuff.
