Memphis or Macrom amps?
What do you guys think about the Memphis MOJO amp?
I am also looking at a Macrom amp possibly.
It is to power 2- Alpine Type X 12" subs. They are 1000 watts RMS and are 3.6 Ohm dual voice coils.
Anyone that has a good suggestion let me know!!
Thanks!!

Mojo makes it's power at 2ohms. You have dual 4ohm subs. Not gonna work for you unless you want to run it at 4ohms but there's no point in that.
Macrom 1000D does 1000rms at 2ohms so you could run one on each sub and spend a whole lotta cash on that if you want.
Cheaper to run a Memphis 1000D or Crossfire 1000D on each sub as they're cheaper and still excellent performers.

Will the Mojo run daily at 1ohm? Yes
Will it burp down to .35ohm? Yes
Will doing either of these cause the amp to draw a lot more current? Yes
Will it shorten the lifespan of the amp? Yes

I love my Memphis gear. That being said I'm not getting much suport from them. Macron's rep in Canada is much more personal. Give John a buzz. Both are very good systems. Price I sure is an issue. But the follow up service I think is what makes it. Tough call.

Maybe you should check a dealers price list on the Macrom 1000D also and not pull the price from the online retailer to compare.
The dealers in my area sell the Memphis M1000D for $750-800.

Sounds like that memphis amp and the macrom amp are priced fairly similar.
The important part in that statement is that you took your pricing from a dealer price list.

I posted our MSRP to be fair, I do sell online but to not conflict with our retailers we only advertise our MSRP, I'm not in the business of competing with my own dealers.
HARDWRKR, you made a valid point, I just wanted to clarify.
P.S I think I've broken a couple rules and can not post any other prices so please don't ask on this board to be fair to wade. PM or e-mail me.
