Ok, here's the noob of all noob questions.

I'm surfing around and checking out possibilities for replacement of my Golf's mid range and tweeter speakers (the speakers which are in my doors). I've come across coaxials and also just speakers (otherwise known as components?). Also there seem to be 2 and 3 way speakers. How might I differentiate between all of these. I am completely lost.

I'm sure this will only take a quick explaination and I appreciate your time. If you know of some sort of tutorial web page which covers all of this please send a link.

Thanks.

components consist of seperate tweeters (high frequencies) and mid-woofers (mid-lower frequencies) and a crossover unit.
Co-axials have the mid and tweeter mounted together on the same axis.
Threeway - tweet, mid and mid-bass
twoway - tweet and mid only.

oh please, ive asked way newbier questions than that.
i think unles you are a car audio SQ freak...uh, i mean fanatic, stick with some coaxials or three way speakers so you can just pop out the ones that are in there now, and replace them with the new ones.
