the posts have copper bars going vertically through them too and it looks like u may have to have certain speaker wire? theyre made in england maybe they hook their speakers up differently. if anyone can help me id really appreciate it i just want to hook them up to my receiver

It's for bi-amping (two channels to drive one speaker)... Rather pointless for an effects channel. Klipsch loves to do it too and I've never understood why (even on center channels... WTF?). I could see bi-amping the front left and right channels if you're looking for a little more oomph, but leave the little gold bars in place and hook up your single channel to one of the sets of posts, doesn't matter which. If the little gold bars worry you, run a small piece of wire between the + and + posts, then the same on the negative side (parallel wiring).

ok so do i need special speaker wire? do i have to plug it in to the holes of the posts or can i just unscrew the post, jam in a wire, and screw it back in like regual speakers? cause when i tried all i got was static

you should be able to use spade or banana connectors, I am not sure you can use pin connectors on their binding post
