Well I guess they got the bling factor down.......

I have an older Blau amp from the mid 1980s, does 15x4, solid little amp. I prefer more of their older stuff, but that is also my bias...

Still can't believe you forked out $200 for those....

they were brand new n i was unknowledgable at the time, I heard them in the store before I bought 'em and about the bling factor, I didnt know what they looked like till after I bought 'em lol they just had a black cover on 'em when I was in store. They don't really need to be nice lookin to sound great unless ur showin 'em off, and from where they are right now in my car u cant see 'em

we got a Blaupunkt tape deck on our Yamaha 1100 bike. I think it's from the early 80's and it's a dual **** and everything. It hammers the 3.5" speakers on the bike's dash. lol...don't they sell that stuff at Wal-Mart now? ohh well. back to the subject, i think that mixing speakers for the average listener is not ideal, because they will be voiced differently. if you have brighter speakers in the rear vs. softer speakers up front, then your ears are going to be picking up more highs from the rear, which isn't right. whatever, just go with whatever the O ntario S tereo A ssistace P lan can afford ya.

Wise man once said...if you like how a speaker sounds, and you can afford it, then it is a good deal.

No point walking around with buyer's remorse 24/7..

good on you, boomin

Hey, how did I miss this thread?

Blaupunkt makes a decent speaker. I have a set of ODrive coax's (those 4 way DVC 6x9's) and they are quite unique. They take a decent beating too. I plan on using them for rear fill (when I feel like it), but now I'm scared to because ALL my speakers and components are different. Poop.

I also had those T-line sets when I had my Omni 3 years ago. I must admit, they did perform moderately with only deck power hahahaha. Beats OEM and Pyramid, but I think I only had my 5¼'s in 5 months, and my 6x9's for 2. I then amped the system, added the Quarts and OverDrives and was broke from then on.

So for the beginner, BP speakers are ok. I'm saying speakers, none else. But yeah, hear it before you like it!

As an FYI, it would also be good to convert from using 6x9's to round 6's or something. An oval speaker has its own funny sounding characteristics and is rendered as less than stellar over symmetrical drivers. Just something to keep in mind there. You seldom see oval speakers used in home audio for a reason.
