I dont even know what that is you're referring to, as I am not as technical as you I only base my results by looking at subwoofer technical factory specifications under SD(effective piston surface area). Here is a link to subwoofer specification sheet and it is convenietly listed in both inches and centimeters. All I did is combine those numbers to get a total surface area number for all the subs. It seems this an old version W6 spec sheet, but as you can see JL was ahead of their time with smaller diameter surrounds, so that the piston area can be bigger. They have 532 cm2 listed vs the average for a 12" which is 480. This is why JL is the ultimate subwoofer manufacturer, not to mention all the other alien technologies they utilize.

Anyways, the differences in SPL and SQ will be marginal at best. Think about saving money by going with a single sub set-up, and weight, as two subs may be heavier then one, but the box size will be the same in terms of space restrictions. How about the bling factor of one big kahuna sub vs two bottomfeeders?

I would suggest going with a single good quality 15" sub in your case. Go sealed if space is an issue. How does two cubes stuffed with polyfil sound? Make sure it's the high Xmax one of around 25mm that can take 1000 wrms, and feed it that or more, and you're gonna be happy with it's groundpounding ability and good tonal balance. If you want more savage bass, then SPL type sub is your game, and ported is prolly the best way to go. Tune it high and start peeling the paint off your car with the sheer output, and you won't be needing more than 1000 wrms for good ear damaging results, but dont expect it to sound good on music. Buy good quality gear. Excellent sub that is really fairly priced is Mach 5 IXL and the 15" is $231 shipped to your door from Manitoba and that is taxes in. It is factory direct seller. This one takes a 1000 watts and has fairly high Xmax of 22mm. It sounds awesome and has severe output capability. We just got one for one of my co-workers.

If I'm thinking multiple-sub setup, it will be greater than 1000rms ... it would need to be bangin'.
Not this year though.
