More subs to ask about

More subs to ask about
Anyone seeing a theme developing here?
Kaption? There's one near here, 12 inch and I believe the CL series. Canadian-made, I believe. Could maybe get it for under a hundred. No box.
Also maybe a 10 in JL Audio (think I know the answer to this one) in one of those glossy Bassworx boxes I can maybe get for $80. No real info, he just says it's a 10" Pro... I understand it may be hard to go wrong with JL.
Also making inquiries about a 12 in Alpine type R.
Am I on the right track now?

Kaption is made in Canada, in fact I think they're made in Concord, Ontario. I haven't heard one of their subs in like 3 years. it sounded good at the time, but they're not the greatest thing in the world. they're not the worst either. I'd say look for a Cerwin Vega vmax sub. they will put you in the same power range as the type r but I think CV's are the ish and smash any sub in that range.

Thornhill, I think.
Keeping in mind that I lean very much toward the SQ side of things (see, I'm picking up the lingo), might not the CV be a bit of overkill for me? I'm really leaning toward the 10 in. JL I'm looking into. Any ideas about that?
Bret Hart's not the dead one, is he?

didnt you have another thread with a bunch of sub suggestions? if im thinking of the same thread i believe i said in there to go with a Type-R. But if you are leaning towards a JL then go with it. Everyone can blast away with hundreds and hundreds of recommendations based on personal opinion.
Go with what YOU think sounds good and will be happy with.
