Mounting Amps Upside-Down...good idea?
Just curious as to the problems or merits of this idea.
I could save a lot of trouble by mounting my front stage amp to the underside of my passenger seat.
However, my older RF amp manual recommended that I do not mount that amp anywhere over 45-60 degrees tilted, due to heat-dissappation problems that could result.
Would these problems be an issue for a smaller front stage amp?
I am presuming that if upside down, the heat has to go 'through' the amp to rise (hot air rises), so this may be an issue with overheating on bigger amps, correct?

i feel there is nothing wrong with mounting an amplifiers upside down the heat will still transfer away from the amp
as in the heat going back the the components theory
pull apart the amp the components are usuall closer to the top of the amp not the bottom so i don't see how that theory flys
i personally beleive mounting vertically is the optimal way as in it will help the convection cooling
when mounting horizontally i can't see how it will make any difference weither tis upright or upsidedown
p.s. i have mounted hundreds if not thousands of amps upside down with 0 problems with heat
