Mounting the sub. -Which direction?

I see a mix of both when I look at friends + youtube setups. I was thinking the subs pointing to the inside of the car.

Is there any difference between having the subs pointing towards the driver passenger or having them point to the outside(rear of car)?

-Sealed box
-not looking to break sound records.

thanks.

Well, what I've found and heard is, that if you face your sub(s) toward the rear (or the trunk lid) it'll seem louder. I'm sure one of the guys here can give you a better anwser lol, and a reason of why this is.

u could always try both ways and see what you like better. also try sideways firing into the side of the car.

It's different for every car. Like Yuli said, try it and listen, all you have to do is move the box around.

Or just put it whatever way is more aesthetically pleasing.

it all has to do with sound waves cancelling each other out. the majority of the time rear facing subs is the way to go because there is less space between the sub and the rear of the car. this space is what gives the sound waves the opportunity to reverse themselves before they are reflected off the rear of the car and ultimately cancel each other out. however there are deffinately some cars that sound better the other way, so the only way to really know is play around with it (before you start bolting down preferably lol)
