mp3 faceplate?

i was wondering if anybody knows of any companies making a face plate for a cd player that you can download mp3's directly onto it then run it in your car?
i have tried searching but generally just end up with cars that can play mp3's
thanks in advance

Are you trying to achieve something that a run of the mill cd/mp3 or DVD/mp3 deck can't do?

or even a ipod connected to a mp3 HU???

Clarion makes decks with a USB port on it now, so you can directly connect your MP3 player to it.

i don't see the advantage of that set up. It offers 1gb of storage which is essentially 1.3 cd-r's worth of music that I can just burn and have around to play anytime I want. With this system, you would have to erase that playlist to put another one on, and losing that list. At 30 cents a cd, where's the advantage?

I'll stay with my deck, a JVC DVD dual layer, 120 hours of music on one piece of plastic that costs $3.

hey guys thanks
i think in reality i was looking for a little too much.i was hoping to have like a 10 or 20 gig faceplate load all my songs on it and be done with switching cd's in and out.
i have a stock 6 disk changer in my vehical now and may just head in that direction again.
i do have a 20 gig mp3 player but it is a dell and i'm sure it would play the songs with some kind of hook up but only from the player itself (it's a dell)
i would like the funcinality of the deck itself to sort and browse the songs and i gather only Ipod has hookups like this so far
thanks again
