first lets start with what car you have ? year make model and where do you want to install the speakers? rear deck? rear door? without this very basic information there is no way to help you.
And had you taken just a minimum of time to do some homework at the MTX website you would have found that the 6 1/2 inch is a 2 way. Only the 6x9 is a 3way.

These are low end speakers... you get what you pay for.

o true say thanks,.
so its a 1998 protege LX and the speakers are for the front doors.
i have a new deck i installed its a nextar NC990C.
but i think i should be looking at speakers for the rear dash speakers since those are the ones that are crackling

and not a penny more lol......i use mtx speakers, they all sound fine to me for how i use them. But im not an sq guy who demands the buttery smooth, low output sound of a speaker set priced no less than $2000 requiring an expensive processor to make them do their magic.
If you were quoted less than $50 for mtx coaxials, then i say dont ask questions........just pay the man.
merry christmas!!

free air'd them off around 50rms and they seem to have a LOUD set of tweets on them. I believe its because of the like .25" extra tweeter on there to make it a 3-way.
it should be a great addition to my front stage cause i'm going to lack the highs once i finsh my install this spring
again, if you can get your hands on a pair, do so. its deffinatly worth the $45
