Mustang Shaker System "pops" with Alpine deck
Hey guys, just had and Alpine CDA-105 deck, alpine amp and 2 10" energy subs installed in my 06 Mustang GT. I love the setup but everytime I turn the stereo on it makes this horrible popping sound in the front subs? The factory speakers also sound terrible now. Any suggestions on fixing this issue? I'll be taking it back to the installer but I wanted to be armed with knowledge before I go so I don't get bullshitted. Thanks for the help in advance,

I had similar problem my mustang. There was some kinda issue running the factory amp with the aftermarket stereo. I didnt even bother lokoing into it to be honest, I just decided to run the front 8's off an aftermarket amp (I wanted them crossed over at different frequencies anyways). I'd love to hear the solution cause I may someday go back to a simpler system.

From what I remember you will need a resistor on the factory amp turn on. You are sending a 12volt turn on voltage down a 5volt turn on line. Going from memory, I am not in my shop with access to any notes.

This seems to be the issue, it really doesn't affect anything accept it makes that horrible "pop" sound when I initially power on the unit. I think I may just leave it. Also, after a little tuning with the bass, treble etc the factory speakers sound much better now, I'm quite happy with the whole setup. Thanks for the help guys.
