My attempt at a stealth install: 07 FJ cruiser

I agree the pods aren't stealth, my plans have change yet again, and kicks will be built.
I had planned to keep the stock deck but, it just sucks way to much. Navigating any kind of MP3 CD is a useless endeavour.
I do plan on getting the stock deck face to go over my deck eventually. But first up will be subs, and they will be stealthy as well.

Decided to switch up the equipment, 5 1\4 pioneer PRS comps and premier shallow mount 8 for the doors.
The shallows are pretty shallow, about the same mounting depth as the midranges
All of them together
During the install, one of the pioneer sub\midbase didn't work, but luckely I noticed that pressing on the negative terminal made it play a little, so I took apart the terminal and re-soldered it. I was pretty happy, didn't have to return it
managed to get my pods to look like the stock panels but without cuting up or using the stock ones.
Of course I did seal off the back as can be seen from the top pictured pod
Forgot one important thing when I was ready to put the pods in.... didn't have any more poly fill.... so I had to improvise
Looks not to bad with those sexy PRS midranges
Here are the drivers in the doors, they are replacing dayton RS series inch woofers. Lucky for me, they both had the same cutout so an easy swap. I did have to cut up the door a bit to make it fit though.
Passenger side pod, while fitting the mid, I didn't take into account the logo on the grill. Oups.
Drivers side is the same
I riped out my dash pods and I am testing out tweeter locations, but so far corner dash seems pretty good sound wise.
And here is might sound setup, true RTA with with behringer mike, you can also see my reflection hehe

Yes they are the premier ones, so far they seem to play lower then the RS225's but they are not as loud, I think they want more power. Dayton was better at midbase and played higher, the pioneers play lower and are less efficient.
I measured relative loudness of the 2 using true RTA
DAYTON RS
100hz -2.4 DB
80hz -3.4
60hz -8.2
50hz -8.8
DAYTON RS
100hz -4.2 DB
80hz -6.8
60hz -11.3
50hz -8.9
Closer to 0, the louder it would be. Of course the daytons were broken in and the pioneers are new.
I need more time to experiment before more comments.
I also decided to clean up the tweeters, pictures are pretty dirty, they look better in person I would say.

looks good but I am not sure about those kicker panels. If it was my car I know atleast the one on the drivers side door wouldnt last long because it that pic it looks like it sticks out pretty far... but I guess they are called kicker panels for a reason

I haven't kicked em yet, nor has the careless wife. They really don't stick out to much I find.
Updated though, those pioneers are not meant for midbase dutie. They are pretty anemic in output and have no midbase. Dayton's are 100% better.
Changed the finish on the tweets
Next up, new midbases and more door work.
