My Brahma 15 is installed!!!!
#1
Well it was actually installed on sunday but I had to cut a bit of the box off to install it, so I took it out monday and modified it and put it back in yesterday. All I can say is ****in **** this mother fugger is LOUD! And I don't even have that much listening time on it, I can't wait till it's broken in. I recieved it along with an Avionixx 800.2 and hooked up my Zapco Studio 150 to a set of Infinity Kappa 5.25" components.
I'm running 1/0awg to a distro then 4awg to each amp. The Brahma is installed in a 3.7cuft (have to remeasure) tuned to 30hz with a 3"x10" port.
I purchased everything from www.genuinecanadianaudio.com and I'm very glad I did. Jon was such a pleasure to deal with, and besides the NINE.1 that I was supposed to recieve but didn't (because of circumstances beyond his control) he has gone out of his way to please me. And I'm glad the NINE.1 didn't come (not glad but it's better it didn't) because the Avionixx 800.2 is amazing.
If anyone is buying stereo stuff, check him out I HIGHLY recommend him.
The Brahma is so friggin smooth I couldn't believe it. I had to question whether or not it was a 15 because of its accuracy. And low notes just beat the crap out of me!!
The Avionixx is a very sturdy looking amp and I love the features. The only downside is the lack of a subsonic filter but with my low tuning I'll be fine.
I'll try and get pic's after I make my install not so fugly.

Yeah I'm not too sure though if my gain is set right. I had it to half on the Avionixx but when I turned it to 27 out of 35 (for a sec, and the highest I ever turn it) it bottomed out on Xzibit. So to be safe I turned down the gain to a 1/4. Is there a good way to set your gains without an ocilliscope(sp)? I'm also not used to such extreme bass so maybe it didn't bottom out, I was a little wasted too. I'll check it again to see if it does it. My deck is a Kenwood x815 and it says 4.5v preouts but I highly doubt they're that good. What do you think they actually put out?

I was told by a reliable source that it puts out a hair over 1000watts rms, but I'm not sure what voltage that was at. Does anyone know how to check the excursion using WinISD Pro?

Your X815 is a fantastic deck and these days Xceleon is one of the very few brands on my short list of 'top end' CD players..
Set your gains by ear. Turn it all the way down, play a song with the 'typical' amount of bass in it that most of your music has. Turn the deck up to about 80% volume. Increase the gain on the amp until the woofer starts to sound stressed or overdriven. Back the gain off a hair and you are done.
