my experience with SELECTIVE SOUND pics

I've got a Dodge ram and needed someone to install my double din. Looked for ever to find a bezel made for the ram truck,, theirs nothing out there!!! so I start goin from shop to shop asking prices and just talking with people. Out of the 4 shops I went to 3 of them gave me the same price. The last shop I went to was only cause I found this site, Selective sound. Even though it was far from where I lived, I wasnt doin anything and thought I'd take a drive out there.

When I went there, Davis (the owner) talked to me personally. and gave me a price that beat everyone's. His price alone on the double din install beat everyone's by $200 bucks. I installed my compustar alarm which was also cheaper. In all I think Davis saved me around $500 bucks

So I drop my truck off and leave it for a few days. After getting it back I noticed that the alarm/starter was installed the right way. I can start my truck and my stereo doesnt turn on untill my key is in the ignition. But 2 problems, because I forgot to tell him my box was goin under the rear seats the amps were installed in a bad spot. And the other problem was, I wasn't happy with how my bezel looked on my dash

I called up Davis and told him what I didnt like. And all he said was come in and we'll talk a look at it.... ( I thought he was blowing me off)
When I go there Davis came out, looked out at my truck. I pointed out what I didn't like and all he said was " I'll do it over, I'm here to make you happy. "
again I thought he was blowing me off.

I brought pictures with me and asked him if he could copy how the install looked in the pictures,,and also install a center speaker because without it looked really bare,, he said yeah

I dropped off my truck, and in a couple hours he had it finished. When I saw the install after It was great. and later on after examining, he took alot of time making all the lines around the stereo even and stright. He relocated the amps to under my seats. After all was said and done, HE DIDN'T CHARGE ME EXTRA. I was shocked.

Thanks a lot to everyone at Selective sound

Peter

heres how the install looks after he redid everything, the last pic is the pic I brought him in and asked him to copy

That looks awesome! They made that from scratch? How much did that cost? You said he said you lots of money, but what is the final cost?

The first peice he made was out of fiber glass, painted smooth,,, I thought it stood out to much. When I went back i asked if he could match the dash, maybe wrap it in vinyl. He showed me 4 peices of vinyl and I matched it with what he had.

I'll let Davis answer that, I know it took him some time. Maybe it wasnt worth it for him in the long run. I really think he under charged me.
