My First big sound off tonite!!!
#1
Well this was my first sound off with my new gear. Bazooka EL1500 amp and my 2 10" thunder 6000s. I had lots of fun. I was very surprised to come in 2nd place in my category with a maximum meter of 139.8dbs. HAHAHa No one though i would hit over 130 lol. Whats the deal with Fusion gear? Most of the heavy hitters were running this stuff and were getting high numbers, well not high compared to most of u guys but 144-145 with 10's and 12's. My amp was jacked up all the way so i hope i didnt hurt anything, still sounds nice tho. The air was pretty cool so that could have been effecting things. Any body got any tips they wanna PM to help me out in my next run?

When I went to my first comp guys were helping me out left and right with little ideas. A few ideas were try facing the box back, then forth, and different positions in the trunk, round the edges of your port, round the edges inside the box. There are guys in here with tons of experience, im sure they'd have plenty more for you. Nice score by the way

Try Thunderous' suggestions. Facing the box different in the trunk, or even try a different box, better amp etc. All possibilities. I'm in ur boat no money to work with on my system. I didnt compete the first and only competition I've been to so far cuz of the battery in my car n also cuz I know I Wouldn't win lol. But for doing no modifications to the system I hit 131.7 dB which isn't to bad to me but I'd like louder of course. So hopefully when I get some breathing room in cash I can build a new box for my new subs sell what I got and get the new amp and install it all and hopefully hit higher numbers. I noticed with the system I have now that it hits differently facing in and out (the sub/box) in the trunk. So maybe try that as a start? That's a pretty good score though man good job.

I still have not competed.
I've helped out buddies at comps back in the day and they picked up seconds and firsts with scores of 142 etc.
congrats on the score. It's a good start and gives you something solid to build upon.
