My first sub box build. PICS INCLUDED
#27
The "devider will act as a brace for the cabinet, which will improve sound quality by preventing cabinet resonance.
A minor tweek can be done to the woofer to make it sound more defined, by providing a small 2"x2" brace from the back of the magnet to the rear wall of the cabinet. Note the angle needed, and make the brace TOUCH the back of the magnet. (in order to avoid warping the stamped steel frame(basket) of the woofer). Simply measure the depth of the cabinet, and subtract it from the MOUNTING depth of the woofer, cut your wood at the correct angle to the magnet(avoid blocking the vent hole), and glue it to the back cabinet wall.
mount the woofer in place 'et voila.
*The result
The sound quality of a die cast woofer.
