My Subwoofer. Quick Question

NEW QUESTION.

Thanks to RmanticMoments for answering my last one. Didn't want to make a new thread.

Anyways I have never had a Subwoofer before, and right now I have a ported 8" JL W3v3-4ohm.

When it hits some notes, or when it goes loud it seems to make a flapping sound I guess you could call it. In most youtube vids thats what I hear so I assume its fine for the sub?
Go to 1:42 at this video - http://www.youtube.com/watchv/ElDK5YjVqCc

It shows the "rattling/flapping sound" I'm talking about. I'll get a few more examples.

Looks to be a typing issue. If it was on the backside of the enclosure it would be a passive radiator enclosure, not a slot ported.

If you talking about the fluttering sound... my guess would be the sub is unloading below the tuning frequency. If you have a subsonic filter, turn it up a little more and see if it goes away.

Yes the fluttering sound, I don't dislike it (I can't hear it unless I go open the hatch) I was just wondering if it will break the sub. Even though I don't play it that loud often.
No I don't have the subsonic filter.

no subsonic filter... is box ported? If so, sub is definitely unloading. Whats it roughly tuned to? This flutter is actually the sub running as if free air. Depending on power levels you can definitely damage the sub.
