I wasn't too pleased with them. The old guy didn't seem to know much and the son didn't care to stop playing on his cell phone.

yeahhh, i'm not all that experienced with sound deadening, but the young guy is a moron. the old guy isn't that much smarter either. the young guy told me that the big 3 won't help my van...that was the last time i went there. albeit all i know about dynamat is that it stops the bell from ringing in best buy, but i can't see how it wouldnt be an improvement.

Try using expanding foam (such as Great Stuff) you can buy it at home depot and its not very expensive at all. SHoot it into all the trunk lid's openings and try to fill as much of it as possible.

Sound deadener is going to add mass to the metal panels in your car. This changes the resonant frequency of the panel and does indeed make a huge difference in how it both sounds and the amount of rattle in your trunk. It will not solve it and the spray expansion type of foam can help as well. It is extremely messy and is very difficult to remove, if not impossible once you get it on something that you do not want it on. My price on deadener is a little cheaper than what you can buy it from on their site for B-Quiet material. It will give you more material than the trunk kit from FS and does a great job in this very situation. Start with this material and then retest.
