I have this subwoofer sitting in my room, but i cant figure out which model it is... all i know for sure is that it is a dual coil 12" concept subwoofer. I've looked on the internet and the only thing i can find that looks like it is the ex/cex-12, but the person who sold it to me claims it isn't... it also has no stickers or other writing aside from the concept logo on it

Do you have a multimeter so you can test what the resistance of the coils is? http://www.carstereopro.com/Merchant...alog/c165.html

Maybe a CPT or CEX model, for sure. If they are dual 6 ohm coils, probably a CEX. If they are dual 2, probably a CPT.

Looks like a CEX to me... dual 6ohm.

I believe CEX had the grey logo, CPT had white (or was it yellow...... been like 3 years since we sold that stuff)

What color is the logo?

EX-12

Yes, it has dual 6 ohm coils...awesome sub!

hmm... guess ill have to invest in a multimeter to be sure... It has the white logo, and from the pic from that car stereo pro catalog site, it doesnt look like its a cpt, because it is flat in the center, like the cex, not the cpt... thnx for the input guys

darn, I'm guessing the $200 i paid for it wasn't the best deal though. Oh well

yup, ex 12. just snagged one off fleabay for 65 bux shipped...

did ya notice that the recommended vented box is smaller than the sealed??

Meistah 01-05-2006 11:49 AM

funny you should say that, yes I did. I was looking at that because i was trying to decide what kind of box to put it in...but i think im gonna talk to the guy who sold it to me, because 200 is pretty ridiculous if u can pick it up for that cheap shipped, considering its used and a few years old.

It looks like a CEX-12 great subs. They dont need a crap load of power and they rip preety good.and if anyone was at the Autotemp show in Calgay 2004, you would have seen the #@$*kickg I gave those subs!25hz 500w a piece for 5min till the coils came out of the dust cover. My car still stinks like victory!
