pic's at the very bottom of the page.. im pretty sure jl only started putting out dual voice coil subs at the w3 stage.. so my guess is its a 10w3.. any takers?

That looks older than a W3. IIRC the first widely sold DVC woofers from JL were the W4 and then the original W6 line. The magnet looks large enuf to be a W6, not a W4. Have you measured the resistance of the voicecoils? The old W6s had dual 6ohm coils.
yes i metered them and got 3 ohms on each coil.. and it is a 10 inch.. not an 8.. so from what I gathered from the jl site..(measured diameter and depth.. etc.. comparing all the subs) and this is indeed an original 10w6.. sweet! anyone know if the 300w nominal power for these can be pushed very much?

hey a lil off topic, but do you remember what that dampening stuff you put in your car was called? the water proof stuff..i might wanna pick some up to try it, in some of my other cars. sprints need all the help they can get for sound dampening.
