I just picked up a component set ...it says it can handle 130wRMS....now im in the market for an amp...should i get an amp that can put out atleast the same amount of power? is that how these rms #'s work? so what im saying is should i go out and get a 130wRMSx2 amp or is that overkill or underkill...as you can see im new
the component set is the EF-61CF so yea im looking for the perfect amp to power these and only these components and i dont know what to look for.

Nice choice on the comp set CasinoGreek.
When I first installed my set they were running off two channels of a 65x4 amp with the other two channels running rear fill. Sounded ok.
Then I pulled the 4channel and rear fill and am now running just the ef-61cf's (and an IEK) off a 175x2 amp.
With the gain very moderately set, the comps really came alive. Sounds great.
So don't be afraid to run a little more than they call for as long as you keep the gain down and highpass them properly.
Good luck!
