Need Advice on amp for speakers
i just bought some speakers for my truck. i got two alpine SPX-137R type x components for the front. they are 60 watts RMS, 240 watts peak. sounded amazing in the store. and two SPR-57LP type r coaxials for the back, they are 40 watts RMS, 200 watts peak. i have two twelve inch type r's and was wondering what would be a good four channel amp to run these speakers. i think that i want to stick with alpine, maybe not though, does anyone have any suggestions on what type of amp i should get for these speakers.

What kind of $$ do you have to work with?
I would recommend the Alpine PDX series! for the front/rear - pdx-4.150
For the subs - pdx-1.1000
I have heard these amps in action, sound incredible and stay cool to the touch.

If you can swing the PDX's do it, you won't regret it. I have the V12 MRV-F345 and I must say it's a nice amp but I do not have quite enough power(75wrms x 4) to run my MBQuart components.
For your subs, definitely get the PDX-1.1000, however for the front/rear components, you could use the V12 MRV-F545 and have plenty of headroom left, while the F345 would also do the job quite nicely.
Personally I would go with both PDX's as they are also very compact compared to the V12's so if you are strapped for room, they would be a good choice.

The V12's are definitely a step down from the PDX's but they are still a good amp.

hella room......eddie bauer expedition. but the system on a whole would sound better with pdx amps than with the v12's?? because i got everything i need, just need amps, and have been having a hard time deciding whether i should get the cheaper one's and save some money or if i should just get the good ones. also, i been thinkin, do you think i should take back the type r coaxials for the back and just get components. if i'm gonna get a pdx 4 channel i should get 4 good speakers.

I have been in your situation many times, and I still kick myself for going with the cheaper one, although the V12 F345 wasn't exactly cheap (like $650). I do like my V12 but if I had to make the choice again, I would definitely go with the PDX-4.150 as it has a cleaner output, does not get hot, and has better technology, and is smaller. My V12 get's quite hot after even 10 minutes of moderate to loud listening, the PDX after 20 minutes was slightly warm and we played-er hard!
Actually I am (in the near future) going to upgrade to the Zapco dc650.6 so I can have complete digital control over my whole midbass/mid/tweeter system, mainly because I only have 4 channels and need 6, plus you can set "everything" using the software and a laptop.
As for the coaxials, it's up to you but components are always a better choice.

Unless you want to keep the whole "Alpine" theme going there's lots of great amps out there that will perform just as good as the Alpine's but will save you some coin.
All depends on your budget and your wishes.
