Need a box for my Alpine Type X

Hi, I'll be buying a Alpine MRP-M1000 amp for the type-x sub so I'll need to wire the sub down toe 2ohms somehow..
Anyways I really need to buy a box or get a box made.
Any suggestions?

Damn, can't type tonight..
But I don't know what type of box I should get for it.. I want the sub to last so I was told to get a ported box.. but.. should it be custom made or could I just buy one in Toronto's GTA?

Well... I don't think being ported will make it last longer (typically a woofer can take more raw power in a sealed box). If you go sealed the box will be smaller and ported it will be louder and may perform better overall (or not if it is built incorrectly).

I think you can get a custom box made at a retail shop that would look great in your ride for a few dollars more than a prefab box that looks like a prefab box... but there are some great looking prefabs too.

the Alpine specs work well for overall SQ and SPL...so consider that. As far as sealed vs. ported, well that's a taste, space available, system design parameters, and perhaps type of music predominately listened to....decision! I personally prefer ported all else being equal...rare...but in my current system I decided to go sealed for a few reasons and I'm very happy with the bass output and quality. By the way i have 2 type R's and have given them 1200 watts rms for 2.5 years now with no issues. The x's are very good subs and can handle a lot of power very cleanly...if you have the space, go ported as they tend to be slightly inefficient.
