Need Help with Alpine X100 & Ipod Nano

Hey guys, new to the site I've been looking around the net but can't seem to find any info and thought maybe someone else has had the same problem I have. Just the other day I went out and pick up an Alpine iDA-X100 and a 4G Ipod Nano from Best Buy. Anyways, if I have my Ipod (old one or new) hooked up to the old full speed cable setup it works fine but if I try connecting my new Ipod Nano via the USB cable it will play for a short while (maybe 3-4 mins, not even enough to listen to a whole song) and then give me either Error 01 or Error 03. This doesn't make sense!!!! Brand new deck, brand new Ipod. I read through the owners manual and found that my software version on iTunes was higher than what they said was suggested so I even went as far as to uninstall iTunes and reinstall an older version. It's a real bummer that it will not stay working via usb, I'd really like to have that option and wonder what's going on. Did I buy the ONE OTHER Ipod besides the shuffle that doesn't work properly with my deck? Do I have a hardware problem? It seems like the the iPod just resets itself, I've watched it. It goes from saying Alpine to the main menu, after that you have to unhook it and reconnect. 3-4 mins later and same thing. I can't figure out what's goin on to save my life. lol.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jay
