Nothing against Rob, he is a great dealer with a ton of good product but i would not go near that REQ-5 if it was free and they paid me to install it.

i purchased this piece about 6 months ago to add a system in my Caddy SRX. i was running a set of pioneer prs-720s in the front with focal polyglass in the rear along with the preloaded focal 2 10 box running off a nice 5 channel audison amp..

i had nothing but noise problems, very limited play in the adjustments in voltage and gain compared to similar products on the market.

i have heard a few other bad reviews as well.. i would step up and go with JL or even up another notch to the Audsion Bit-One

Again just personal past experience with this piece..

Keith

your best bet would be to go out to a few car audio stores and hear what they got. Bring a CD, and see what they can do, most places are proud to show you what there speakers can reproduce. Best of luck

hmm, i havent heard req before but i have listened to most others. The main thing is all your speakers brand match. If you mix and match front and backs you wont have a equal sound. I have enjoyed my pioneer and infinity mids and tweets most for your price range. A little better would be Boston Acoustics or Coustic speakers they have a remarkable midrange sound, though there components are pricier. Also if your running your stereo off your deck you'll need to make sure you get some speakers with a low rms wattage or you'll have major distortion.

4th for Morels, and MR2NR seems to be the guy to get them from. Had Morel elates, ovations, and dotechs in the past, and I'm currently working back up to the elates or supremos...easily my favourite sounding speakers of all time.
