Hey everyone, i am new to this forum so i dont know if this is the right section. I am currently looking for a 12inch sub and an amp to put in my car. i know which ones i want to get but i am confused about DVC and SVC and the ohms in which the sub and amp are suppose to run at. i will post the links of the sub and amp i want to get. i would like to know if they would work together without any problems

AMP

Hey welcome to the forum!
first off tell us your budget and vehicle being installed. if your set on these specific items thats fine but we might be able to get you better deals for your money. also have you looked at all the wiring needed to run the set up?
dvc and svc are just dual and single voice coils that are different resistance (ohms) and this is important when choosing subs and amps because the need to match in terms of power output at the specified ohm load.
i would suggest doing some research either on the board or searching google to give yourself and better understanding overall

the reason why im kind of stuck on these items because can get the amp for 150 and the sub for 100

If you can get that good a deal on them there is nothing wrong with either of them....the amp will run 2 of the TS-W309S4 or one of the TS-W308D4 woofers. If you want a single woofer I would suggest the TS-W309D4 instead as it will handle more power.

Key part of the whole deal is the enclosure for the sub(s).........if you are willing to give up the trunk space for a larger enclosure get 2 of the single voice coil models.....if you would rather save some space get 1 of the DVC models and have a proper enclosure made for them or do it yourself.

As long as the final load on the amp is 2ohms it will do a nice job powering your subs.

is there a such thing as overpowering a sub...so if i decide to get the dvc sub...will it be running on 2 ohms or 4ohms...becasue the amp claims that it runs 700 watts at 2ohms...and the sub is 400 watt rms

The sub will be fine, keep your gains down and bass boost off and let the amp do it's job. Extra clean power won't hurt the sub, distortion will.

Parallel the coils for a 2ohm mono load.

That Pioneer sub will easily take 600+ RMS of clean power, I've been feeding mine 500 and it still seems like it's underpowered.
