Can anyone suggest a very knowledgable Installer and system tuner in Toronto and or vicinity ? ( People that acutally know all the physyics and make your equpiment work at it's optimum ot get your money and sounds worth ) ?

People that take the time to tune a sytem and boxes to your car , box to sub , x-overs ,time alignments etc ...

Not just pay your $ 10,000 ,- g's , well drop it in the car make it look nice and yor car will still sound like it's got pyramid stuff in it .

Nyways , help me find that place .

Please , whatever you do , don't mention Atuo Sound Design and Kromer to me .

System :

Alpine CDA-7878
Boston Pro 6.5
Alpine SPX 177A
BK Butler Tube 475
PPI PCX 2400
JL 12W7 in org. sealed box
15 Farad Power Amper
1 Farad Phoenix Gold
1 Batcap

The highs sound somewhat acceptable but not at that price . The base is very quick , not nearly as loud as I would have expected from a sub at that price . A friend of mine with a Jeep and a some no name 2 x 12 in a home made box made of plywood with a 200 watt nackamichi hits lounder , deeper compared to my expensive W7 / PPI ( 1600 rms) . Listineing to hip hop , jungle etc.. his setup sounds better to my ears , and is closer to what I would have wanted .

What's the dilly , all input is much appreciated !!!!!!

I am tired of having wasted so much time and so much money with various stores who could not do anything but sell .

Thnx in advance !

What kind of car? What kind of box do you have the w7 in? Also, you have a sub with a siigle 3ohm voice coil and your amp puts out that rating at 2ohm mono so your not getting 1600w to it. How are your amps set? Whats with the three caps?
More info is required.
Also, did you not buy any of that from a dealer who could help you out?

Dear Cujo , the car is a VW GTI 1.8 T 2001 ( should sound phenomenal with 1/3 of the equipment I have -solid hatchback ) . The box is the original Silver n black carpet sealed box from JL , not sure of the vol. I was told by the first store I deal with that the amp would give the sub around 1200 rms taking into condsideration that it only needs around 750- 1000 watts tops to preform max acc. to JL . Often good systems don't even give their subs top rec. wattages and system sound awesome . The final install on my current car was done by Perfect Audio Pickering , so they setup the amp setting and tuned the system to the best of their knowledge with the products I brought along .
In regards to caps I has a 1.0 farad and the store owner mentioned it might be better to go with more since the PPI and Butler will draw like crazy ... said they will work without any disadvantage to the system .

Auto Sound Design , Hwy 7 where the first to work on my Honda Civic . Purchased most equipment there with some of my own . They installed it same day ( asked for it ) and said it sounded just fine , the way it supposed to ...
I had some warranty issues and the owner wanted to rip me off on one occasion and then not stand by his own warranty on another product , so I left the store spitting on the floor cuzzin . Hey , better then doin' something worst !

Then purchased new car and was recommended Perfect Audio . They have many wins with plenty trophies and the owner is a great guy . They did a beautiful install but the system still sounds the same , dunno why .

Im surprised that you are not happy with Iggy's work....hmmm....maybe go back and tell them what you think is wrong and see what they say....and in all honesty...with his knowledge and mine, I would take what he says when it comes to how my system sounds....

If you do want to try someone new...goto Custom Auto Radio in Whitby (www.custone.com/car) Rick and Gavin should be able to help out...

Andrew , thanx for the input !

Reread the posting , never mentioned a negative note about Iggy , the place or the install !

I just felt that they had done the most with the equipment at hand and feel that a very knowledgable person , that is also somewhat familiar with the equipment I own could do more to make it shine or suggest why the system is not preforming the way I think it should .

I gotta get some people in the field to audition it see If maybe that is the way the setup should sound and perhaps there is nothing more to get out of it , doubt it though .
