need a little help deciding on a new headunit

trying to find somehting around the $500 price point that has both high volt preouts and has full crossovers. (and sounds good)

i'm looking at the alpine 9885 and the pioneer 880prs
so far the pioneer is so much more apealing, but i prefer alpine (the brand and company) a little better.

the eclipse 5100 is similar in features and looks great, but costs a lot more

does anyone know of any other decks in that price range, with similar features that would compair with those three? sq/features/looks/price?

I def. like the Alpine HU, Although I hate some of the functions on them(hard for me to comprehend time alignments and what not) I like it the most, The pioneer is a great unit as well, but Alpine shines much better! Also what about Clarion? I know SMartass HAs one unit for sale which IS amazing deck(and I hate clarion products with a passion, I like his) User freindly, Amazing features such as Music Catcher. And I know steve takes care of his stuff, Check it out

Thanks Klown, ya its a DXZ955MC last years unit was $749. Has 24DA, TA, 6 preouts and also setup allows for 5.1 if needed. Music catcher is kind of cool load upto 6 discs of store bought cd music in memory, touch screen works awsome as far as touch goes. One of the better sounding units....but if you are hooked on the pioneer vs alpine debate......no contest IMO Alpine wins

ive had a lot of bad experiance with clairion thats the only think keepiing me from going that rout.
the only thing that makes me unsure about the alpine, is that it doesnt have a built in sub crossover. just highpass, and only has very few sub features from what i've read/been told

i prefer to use the built in crossovers and not touch my amps crossover
thats where i sway towords the pioneer.

however i can get the alpine for $350 since i am in pretty good with the owner of my local alpine dealer.

When you say 'full crossovers' do you mean HP/BP/LP?

+1.
I have heard a few eclipse decks, amazing. Pioneer does sound amazing too for much less, that is why I am a pioneer guy myself (only for decks, i don't like their amps/subs)
