Need some help installing two amps?

Hello i'm installing a 4 channel amp for speakers and a mono amp for sub, do i need to run rca's from the head unit to the sub amp or can i just run rca's from my 4 channel amp to the sub amp? what is the difference? Also do i need to run the speaker wires and the rca's on different side of the power wire or is it just the rca's that need to be away from the power cords? thanks

you will get better sub performance and control if you run the RCAs from the head unit to the mono amp. but I guess that depends on your head unit as well, I run a Pioneer 7600 which has sub-woofer controls.

oh and it is just the RCA's that need to be kept from the power cords so they dont pick-up interference

I have a pionner deh-6900 it has all the sub controls, right now i hooked up my mono amp rca's to my 4 channel amp and i have no control of the sub from the head unit, so is that because i didn't run the rca's from the head unit? I also had a question about some fuze i hear from my speakers since i installed the 4 channel amp, when like songs switch i hear fuze but there is fuze as well when the song is playing is this normal or if not what do you think the problem is, cheap rca's? thanks

I also forgot is it okay to run the speakers wires next to the rca's?

1) because you dont have the mono amp plugged into the HU you dont have control of the sub.

2) yes, cheap rca's are the normal cause of the static.

try grounding your deck better.

cheap rca's make no differance. they are all the same.

from what I have read, cheaper RCA's pickup interference easier, but I am still kinda new to this stuff...

they are all the same unless you are buying $300 rca's

So the best way to ground my deck is just screwing the ground onto any metal area behind the deck? also i grounded both my amps at the same place is this bad?

in the back of the deck there should be a screw just sitting there. thats what you attach to. dont just ground or screw into anything on the deck lol

amp ground at same place is fine
