Need some help.. need remote for Panasonic Deck from japan
Hey guys,
I recently purchased a car that was imported from japan. It has installed a Panasonic CQAV7000 deck... which is a cd player with a screen. I need to get a remote.. since it came with a universal remote that i cant get to work...lol. I dont want to install a dvd deck in it... because it already has a dvd player in it. So, i am either looking for a remote that would work for it... or any other suggestions.

Sorry, I can't help you.
However, you said that it came with a universal remote, right? When you remove the batteries on a universal remote, it losses its memory and needs to be reprogrammed. Many universal remotes have a short instruction list on how to program them in the back of the battery compartment. Try that. If there are no instructions, perhaps talk to a shop and see if you can buy and return a universal remote if it doesn't work.
BTW, what kind of car is that?

What was the draw about getting something with right hand drive?

Yes it did come with a universal remote... however no instructions.. and i have done numerous searches online.. but have come up empty. And there are no real stereo shops around here... so i cant get anything to work. I have tried a North American remote.. and that doesnt work either. I have checked everywhere from Google, ebay, anything.. i just want the damn thing to work...lol.
The vehicle is a 1990 Mazda Eunos Roadster... aka... Mazda Miata. What was the draw... something unusual... dont see it every day. I love it... just would like to be able to work the deck...lol

I can't be of any help to you. I am quite certain that the deck is purely for the Japanese market because internet searches for that deck only produce Japanese web-pages. You could contact Panasonic and see if there is a similar North American model with a remote that works.
