Need subwoofer advice for my 300C

Hi guys,

I need some opinions here.

I currently have the following:
Kicker 550.3
Infinity 60.7 (i havent installed yet) replacing rockford fosgate fanatic X
2 x 12" perfect 12.1's in sealed enclosures

Power output on the Kicker is
2x 80W @ 2ohms (infinities are 2 ohms)
1x 450W @ 2ohm load

I want to replace my subs with a single 12" but i want more bass using the same amp.

Any suggestions?

Not accounting for woofer models but if you have two woofers on 450W, taking one away will drop your dBs. Maybe get another amp, port your box, and get a woofer that can handle 800-1000W, there are many!

I would say 1 DD in a ported box and that should solve your problem.

well if you're using the same 450 watts, it'll be pretty hard to get more output from one 12" driver as opposed to 2. There's really no substitute for cone area where output is concerned, especially when your power remains the same.

i think you should replace the amp rather then the subs as even if you get a single sub for your amp it will not be as loud as the set up you have now take my situation for example i have two 10" kicker L-5's with a kicker 400.1 amp now my subs are dual 4 ohm voice coils the subs are 450 watts rms now if i disconnect one sub it is no where near as loud as both subs running at 200 watts each

Agreed^^ Play with the box, first. As it will be the cheapest thing to do. No point spending a bunch of coin before exhausting all cheaper options.

Thanks for the responses guys!!

I always figured my amp is a bit on the weaker side.

I have been quite out of the car audio game, so many subs and amp out there.

My first speaker upgrade are these Infinity 60.7 components. Hopefully they are pretty good!

i would go with a ported box with a dd sub powered by a dd amp
like a ddz sub powered by a ddz2 amp yep that would do it
