I have the Kicker KX 65.2 Component set, 1 of the 6.5's has a crack through the cone... I don't know the name of stuff they use but on the inside of the cone they have some sorta glue that seals the tinsel leads to the cone to avoid the cone hitting the lead then to the voice coil. I am trying to find that stuff but no clue what it's called to seal the crack......If anyone knows what I can use other then a silicon that would be great or know where I can find that glue they use..

Thanks

I used a glue similar to what is known as a 'medium thickness CA'. I just went to a hobbies shop in waterloo and asked for medium thickness CA. The guy didn't have the exact stuff but the stuff he gave me he said was similar. I beaded it down the crack of my 6.5" infinity speaker and it is now as good as new.

Did you bead it down the front or the back side of the cone?

Both. I was a little worried about glue getting on the inside of the speaker with gluing the back side of the cone; but it seems to be fine.

Sorry. I left it in the Old Man's workshop and he must have thrown it out...

Zap-A-Gap eh, will have to check it out, will it seal without expending in the crack? I tried just crazy glue which held but when it dried you could see it some what forced the cone apart.. . very little but you see feel it in the surface....Does that Zap A Gap harden like the stuff they normally use on speaker leads?

BTW Thanks Dukk...
