new alternator and "big 3" upgrade results

WOW!!!

what a difference adding the alternator (200 amp from 105amp) and upgrading the "big 3"

Ray at FX Audio was excited when he found out the alt was from Loud Brown Kicker Colt .

He didn't actualy change the factory wires as they were already 4awg but did add another ground wire and move the power wire for the stereo from a top post on the battery to the side post for a better connection. He also had to trim away some plastic on the cover for the engine as the new alt interfered with it.

Now I can't get the voltage below 14v when the stereo is cranked, seems louder as well.

Can haveing this high powered alt damage any other components?

14 volts is normal , everything id protected by fuses fuseable links or circuit breakers . what battery do you have ? or battery's how many cca . i doubt it will wreck anything . but i could be wrong .

congrats on having 200 amps in one alt how much did it cost you ?

ok that is good

from what I understand, I can't overpower stuff with the new alt just because its rated for 200, it only puts out whats needed, this correct?

if your alt is 205, and your draw is 160 or whatever, nothing is coming off the batt and its all coming off the alt

where did you get this alt from? or where did the guy who sold it to you get it from?

no your alternator is self regulating in voltage and will only draw off as much amperage as is needed . ex 50 amps stereo, 10 amps computer and lights, and it needs 10 amps to charge the battery so it will produce 70 amps to run all of that even if its max output is 200 amps , it will only produce as much as is needed for the load being drawn , just like a battery . when your alt can't produce enough power your battery will make up for it and eventually will die . i hope that answers your question .
