New car, new audio
I recently purchased my second car, and I think it is time for an upgrade. My first build (what I have now) consists of:
- Alpine 9886 HU (4v preouts)
- 4 Alpine Type-R door speakers
- 2 Alpine Type-R 10-inch subs (2ohm+2ohm)
- Alpine MRP F600 4 Channel, 600wrms
- Alpine MRP M1000 monoblock, 1000wrms
Luckily my brand new used car is a 2001 Beamer, so the battery is in the trunk and it has a Bosch 120a alternator, meaning plenty of headroom
My plan so far is to get rid of the 4 channel, and simply run the door speakers off the HU. They seem to be getting enough power that way, and I can focus on the subwoofers getting more power. Any advice here?
I need some suggestions for a new monoblock amp since no matter how the alpine is set, it will overheat after 30-40 min of hard bass (grounds are fine). Nothing too expensive, but ive seen 1500-2500wrms amps on sonicelectronix.com for under $300. My confession: with cap, wiring and installation my above setup cost nearly $3000 at BestBuy.
The head-unit is a bit crappy because of the disabled access to the EQ (Alpine's IMPRINT sound setup requires their gadget), so Im looking at those too.
Finally, the subs. Subs, subs, subs. They're only 10's. They're not bad. Just looking for a bit more RMS then 500 each.

I have a great deal on a big amp for you, 1500w rms of clean clear power. A solid head unit, I still have the deal on the Eclipse CD5030 which is a very tweakable headunit and afford you A2DP Bluetooth to keep you legal as well. Subs, if you are trying to get loud, concentrate on the box first to see what space you have to work with, then choose the subs to match the box.

What brand and model is the amp? 1500wrms at how many ohms?
Im looking at a deck to match my amber/orange dash. Something styled along the lines of the Pioneer 3-Inch MVH-8200, and prefferably 4v outs.
EDIT: I checked out the Eclipse, it looks like a decent model, with 5v. How much and does it change illumination colour?
