New head unit specs, with stock speakers,

I got a 2000 boneville with stock speakers, ATM there running on a 4ch 400w amp through a re-q with a stock HU...

im not to happy with the quality of it, so i got an Alpine CDE-9881 (for $50, is that a good deal?)

it has 3 sets of RCA's on the back and does 16w RMS for speakers... is the HU amp good enough to drive my speakers or should i re-install the 400w amp through the HU RCA jacks and forget about the HU amp?

right now my Re-q is acting like those 3 RCA sets, but i want to ditch that and just install the alpine. im good at wiring and following schematics, but thats about it. the rest of my system is a kicker l3 ported (soon to be sealed) and a 500w amp to drive it.
also, will i see better music range/clarity with this HU? is it even a good alpine?

The deck is decent and probably a worthy upgrade.

Your stock speakers are junk and they're old. You best sound upgrade is there.
