What do you guys think about this new JVC dvd mp3 deck for under 400.00? 1000 songs on 1 disc...could cut down on clutter!

Very cool; the only deck I've seen so far that will actually play mp3s off a DVD+/-R and DVD-RWs. Double that amount of songs with the new dual-layer discs. Front and rear aux inputs. Not the greatest with respect to audio features, however... Only two 2V preouts and no sub contol. EQ is OK on it.

yes i find JVC doing all these "bling" features then putting very crap thought in actual application. espiecaly all the decks they have that have crap eq's and preouts. to a person who jsut wants a new cd player and has no thought in a sub or amping stuff . they are cool to look at. but thats about it

as far as i know you can do that with the alpine dvd flip outs aswell. i've never been a huge fan of jvc quality wise, done alot of jvc warranty. but they are cheap for what you get.

Hope is has a heck of a good menuing setup.
Scrolling through that many tracks on a disc might be quite a task.

yeah no doubt, it can be a pain in the a$$ enough just with a regular mp3 disc, let alone a dvd.

Menuing is pretty basic... Two buttons for switching tracks and two for switching folders. I couldn't get it to fast-forward or rewind through songs, but maybe I'm just doing it wrong... It wouldn't be so bad navigating so long as you had all your music organized into folders.

Yes, this is so true that I have gone back to putting only about 50 songs max on a single disc. However, It would still be nice to have your entire music collection on a few dvds just in the event you forgot to grab the case on your way to Montreal for the May two-four.

have had the kdavx1 now for about 3 weeks and love it. jvc did a very nice job on this deck. the giga mps format is very easy to use as they copied the apple ipod format. measured pre out over 5 volts, 7 band eq, 7 preset eq curves high pass, low pass, internal amp high power, low power or off, to make it a true preamp deck! full motorized with 7 different colors of wallpaper, i wish though that it would play dvd-a. but for 800 its a cool dvd player.
