So much of that install is fantastic...then the middle amp kind of ruins it for me.

I would flush trim the surface the amp is mounted to, and internally wire the amp through it's underside. Sure it's pretty extreme, and unreversable, but the rest of your install is pretty extreme too.

Tim Ballie is the master of sterile wiring around here, ask him what he'd do.

^^ Yeah, internal wiring is a bit extreme.

Personally I would just do some sort of a trim piece to cover the entire surface that the amp is mounted on.

Then just drill a couple of holes on the underside of that same surface and feed the wires up and in to the amp.

It would be a lot easier and the wires would then be out of the way.

btw.. Kriston... I checked out your SD page and you were completely in love with the Zapco amps, why the change to the Xtant? How would you compare them?

I still like the Zapco's alot so much in fact that i have a 6.0 and 4.0 coming here for my brothers car. Budget permitted me to use the xtants... the zapco's were also too big for this install i had the 9.0 and 2.5 ( I later sold the 2.5 for the 4.0 ) Way too much for what i needed. I Loved the headroom i loved the balanced line. They are beautiful amps, the xtants are not as powerful as the 9.0 (obviously) but in terms of accuracy etc i feel as if the zapcos are a little richer full sounding, the xtants are no bells and whistles amplifier just gain and that it i did not use the xover chips for em.

I like the xtants for 1 because they are small and 2 because they are a straight forward amp no onboard processing makes things a little easier to tune from the processor. On my highs the xtants are wonderful, very crisp and clear detail, depth is just as good as the 4.0 (i do have more power on my highs now) than when i had the 2.5 and 4.0 on them so that probably makes the difference... To be honest theirs nothing like head room id much rather have extra power than a super expensive amp on my front end..

hey guys i actually pulked that 5th amp out today im in the process of internally wiring it so no wires will be see from the outside it will come straight up through the plate. essentially it would loook as if the amp is not wired.
