new subs

okay so i just got some alpine type s's product number sws-1042D and i was wondering about the impedance . its dual 4ohm. now there is a wire that goes from one of the negatives to one of the positives connecting them on the sub. is it okay to run it with my kenwood amp listed in my signature? theres 2 of these subs.

Yes if you wire the subs right you will have no trouble at all. What you need to do is from the amp run a pos & neg to each sub. At each sub hook up the pos to the side with the jumper wire in the neg. And the neg from amp to the side with the jumper wire in the pos. Amp will see a 4ohm final load and will give you 300watts for them. Don't expect to rattle stuff off the dash, but it should give a bit of thump. I think the biggest factor will be what box are these in? The perfect box and these will sound good. The wrong box and they will sound like crap. I can help with a box just let me know.

Only if you use one coil on each sub only. This will knock the power handling of each speaker down by 50% at the same time.
