New subwoofer suggestions

Hey all,

Well fI want a new system and I am looking for a subwoofer and maybe some people here can offer some suggestions.

I mostly listen to dance but also listen to some rap. I was thinking of getting some 10" instead of 12". I have always had 12" and am not really sure if this is a right decision. I like the fast punchy bass. My last sub was a 12" Kicker L5 and it would hit hard but it was too big for my new Mazda 3. I am looking for something that will get loud but also be accurate.

So far I am thinking of:

- JL W6 or W7. Not sure which which one would be better and never heard them in real life.
- Image Dynamics IDMax. I have always loved these sub but never heard it in real life.
- ED Subwoofers. This seems to be a new company but people praise them. I am not sure which subwoofer I would get but their website is Elemental Designs and people said Image Dynamics make them but I am not sure

Is 10" the right size to go with? I was also thinking of getting 2 subs in a sealed box and I need to have truck space with this car as with my last car, I had none.

Please keep note that I would rather spend less money then getting all top of the line equipment but I will spend the extra money if it is worth it.

Thats all I can think of right now. I want to stay away from Alpine, Pioneer, Sony, Legacy and other cheaper brand names.

Thanks all

if you would rather spend less money look into Mach 5 Audio.
they are a decently priced sub. the 10 is under 50 bucks, and im sure alot of people can say good things about them, and how they are one of the lowest priced qualty subs you can find.

Hey,

I don't want the cheapest subs out there at all. I suggested 3 subs that are all over $400 per sub probably and your showing me a $50 sub. Thanks but what I think I ment to say was. Instead of spending $1000 a woofer on a W7 I would rather spend $500 on a IDMax for similar perfoamnce.

ANy other suggestions?

Thanks

that one 50 dollar woofer could possible compete with those 400 dollar drivers for your aplication, you asked for a suggestion, and i gave you a cost alternative one.

your welcome.

I will look into it and if it's that good, I could even try it out. Thanks

Umm I guess I just have to go around and listen to as many things as possible?

Is there certain subs I should be going with? One person on another forum is recommending a JL W3 as it has lots of kick.

I was maybe thinking of 4 10" Elemental Designs one of their own amps.

Would that be good?
