Newish install /W pics.
Well was pretty much bassless for a year. I spent that time collecting some stuff. Bought a new vehicle, a 1999 Blazer LS with the full load and slowly did the install. Currently i have i run of 1/0 positive to a fused distro block, 1 run 1/0 negative to distro. 4g from the postive to my amp, same for negative. very small runs. Amp is a PA PS1-4000d wired for 4 ohms right now ( stock alt), so 1200 watts rms. Sub is a Orion HCCA 12.2 in a fisher customs designed box. 3 cubic feet @ 35hz. Big three is also done in the vehicle. the problem i have ran into is when running the postive cable, finding hole to go through the firewall was difficult. after some research i found a hole behind the passenger foot stop for the attena. i ran it through no problem , butnow after looking at it and have the vehicle running its pretty close to the heat from the exhaust manifold. Any one else have this gen of blazer wanna chime in with their take? i know your out there. second problem is setting the SSF and low pass on the amp. i got the SSF @ around 30 and the low pass at 85ish???? third and last problem is when i set the gain with my DMM. now setting the gain @ 1200 watts rms, the gain should be set to 67ish volts AC right? well at full crank the amps gain will only go to 66?? the gain seems to rise normally till just over half crank. then it just stop rising. i have it set at 65v just over half gain. dont really get that, its a brand new amp, faulty gain control? idk anyways here is some pics
yes i use 4ga for my big three and all in positive red. i like the look of red and it was readily available for me to use at the time for free. will upgrade soon with 1/0. the way it is now it is quite loud, really impressed how low it goes with the wattage im throwing at it. ill make a vid and post it if you guys want. thanks for any replies.

hey man, ive got a 99 blazer as well, ill have to look where i ran my wire, but im pretty sure its down where ur talking, i had to drill some holes tho as i ran pos and neg front to back.
your filters are set ok, lpf i usually set around 80ish, and subsonic i dont use, amp dosnt have it, and frankly dont care to use one...lol
as for the gain question, the amp puts out voltage and amperage, voltage may stay the same but ur amperage might be climbing...not 100%, but thats a possibility.
someone else might be able to answer that for sure.
also, these trucks like the sub facing up port facing back, but its a hatchback almost anything will work ok, ull just get the best out of it that way.
gl with it and have fun. looks good so far

hmm, i did the big 3 in 4ga because it was free and readily available at the time. the big red one off the batt is my amp power wire. the one off the neg are 4ga grounds and i have a 4ga off the alt to the positive on my batt. hmm i dont really want ot spend the money on more 1/0 when i have all this 4ga sitting here for free. can i add some more grounds then in 4a to pick up the slack? or what? thank you for pointing this out. you cant beat experience.
