hello to everyone

i hope you guys can help me understand a few things and help me reach a decision. first i will tell you what i am trying to achieve and what i have.(no flaming on my exisisting eq.)

my car is an 1988 olds cutlass
fronts-Infinity 3 1/2" Speakers REF3002CF(75w rms
rears -Pioneer 6x9 Pioneer TS-G950M(220 watts rms
headun-Sony cdxs-2000(52wattsper channel)
all speakers running off the headunit

as you can see i do not have much sunk in to the car stereo as i am always paranoid as to theft,
i tend to spend my money on my home theater.

anyways, i am trying to add some punch in the way of a subwoofer or subwoofers. i listen to all kinds of music from Sarah McLaughlin, to The Tragically Hip, all the way to heavy rap and rock depending on my day.

What i need is a subwoofer(s) which i will build the box for(have built home speakers).
as my front and rears are already running off my hu, I would like to use my existing amp(300watts rms bridged at 4-8ohms) to drive my subwoofer. i want more to feel the base than for others to hear it outside.
 bear with me here.

Question 1: should i use 1 or 2 subs
2: what size 10,12
3: opinions on make and model
4: ported or sealed

i know that my amp is not the greatest but it is what i am going to use.
and to top it all off my budget for the speakers is $150-200. materials and wires are seperate.

after reading about the budget xs cargo deal i hope you guys can help me out. i would also prefer to be able to buy over the counter, rather than over the internet.

Well if you like the XS Cargo stuff. I would suggest a single 10" or 12" Clif Designs sub. I believe they are selling the for $80 and $100. The sub will give you all you seem to be asking for and will save you a little cash.

^ I agree, even the visonik and ma stuff will Prolly give you what you want.
Although there all from the same company.
The quality apparently goes like this from best to worst..

Clif designs
MA audio
visonik
ultra linear

Someone feel free to correct me if im wrong?
I would also advise to snoop around the for sale section here cause you can get awsome deals here to on better stuff!

I've used the MTX RT10-04s before. They held up really well, even with twice their rated power to them for daily beating. They didn't get as low as I liked, but I thought they sounded alright for the money.

If you're shopping at a local Future Shop, they have great prices on Pioneer subwoofers right now. The TS-W255C 10" is on for $79.95 & the TS-W305C 12" is on for $99.95.

In all honesty, I don't think you could find a better woofer than these at this price.

Happy shopping!

Even with all the sugestions given. Clif Designs would still be my first suggestion in your price range. You may also want to look at the JL audio 10W0 or 12W0. They are good subs and will also fit you application well.
