any places in ontario to get one from (hand held) for under or around $200? or can anyone point me to a decent one on ebay or online some where, i found one on ebay for under $200 but never heard of the name.

I've got the VELLEMAN HPS10 or something very similar.
It works very well for me.

yea thats the one i think i may purchase. just never heard if velleman before so didnt know on the quality wise, how good it was.

The HPS40 edition is a nice unit and its on clearance pricing from 300 dollars to 200 dollars. Its screen is very detailed and it has a few more toys definately worth the extra $30 over the HPS10.

yea but the link i have for the ebay for the hps10 comes to like $175 cdn shipped, where the hps 40 is 200 us, and then what ever shipping is ontop of that. could end up being like $250 or even more. thanks though, i will keep that in mind!

Actually its 227 shipped for the HPS40 at least thats what I paid. Keep in mind everything will have broker fees etc... but $250 final price is a steal of a deal.

Could you rent O-scope somewhere ? I'm in middle of installing new car audio too, but not really happy about spending $150 for a tool that will only be used for 5min

If you have a laptop you can get o-scope software however you need something to protect the laptop inputs .. I have been meaning to look further into it. I have truerta that has an oscope feature but I haven't looked any further into it.
