Old School vs New School Alpine

So i'm basically shopping around for the best HU and speaker that's suitable for me I drive a 93 Mazda RX7 so i don't have much space to work with so pretty much a good set of component speakers a good head unit and amp is what i'm in the market for through some research and customer feed back i've narrowed it down to an Alpine HU.

I'm thinking of these combinations

Alpine DVA-9861
Alpine PXA-H701

or going with the new imprint stuff

Alpine CDA-9887
Alpine KTX-100EQ

any takes is much appreciated thanks.

Can't go wrong with either one. With first one you need to do all the tweaking yourself. Second combo will tweak it for you, but chances are you will still manually tweak on top of that, but Imprint may give you a nice base for further tweaking. As far as speakers and an amp are concerned, you gotta give us your budget.

Without budget given I am suggesting to get on the group buy on SSA forum, and get yourself a set of Hybrid Audio Clarus at 25% off. And a 2-channel DLS amp on Ebay they have right now to power the set. If you want a sub for your space limited ride, I would suggest getting a 4-channel DLS amp, and use the two channels in stereo for the components, and bridge the other two channels for a shallow mount sub like the upcoming Stereo Integrity BM(I hope they will come in correct wiring configuration for this set-up), cause this sub need only 0.5 cubes sealed. Booyaka

p.s. Get the bigger 4-channel amp for better enjoyment.
