Old School Alpine V12 MRV-F400

Ive had this amp for a while now still in mint condition, and its about time to put it to use. Just wandering, would this run my RF P1625's with decent power ? I know its rated 40Rms x 4. What are my options ? Thanks ~ Nelson

Thumbs up

I used the MRV-F400 for about seven years in my IASCA system when I was competing in the late '90s.
The amp is rated for 40 watts per channel at 12 volts. At 14.4 you should be getting 60 watts per channel. If that's still not enough, you could bridge the amp to run two channel & have 100 watts per channel at 12 volts & 160 watts per channel at 14.4 volts.
I'm not familiar with the RF speakers but with this amplifier, powering any type of main speaker should be more than adequate.
Good luck!

I have the same amp now, bridged to two channels, with all crossovers off (my HU's built-in goodies far surpasses the V12's), running my front door 6x9's.

Works pretty good, no complaints.

Exclamation

14.4 volts is the typical vehicle electrical system when the vehicle is running & the audio system is being powered by the battery & alternator. 12 volts is when the vehicle is off & the audio system is only being powered from the battery.

Nice little amp that should do the job for you. It is far from a old school amplifier, old school Alpine is going to say made in Japan on the back and be basic black and maybe just maybe if you are real lucky, a titanium colored one.

I have an old MRV-T300, basically the 2-channel version of the MRV-T400. Great little amp.

(BTW I'm not really using it anymore... interested? )
