Thumbs down one step closer

well its official future shop has just taken one step closer to being a true low end store by picking up the fulll line of kenwood.. oh great more warranty work. and customers bitching because they cant work there deck... i need another job.. we used to carry there product and dumped it because with 150 stores there was just way to many returns.. now we pick it up again.. i dont get it.. i guess if you are a small store or chain its ok to have some units returned but my goodness.. i sure as hell hope there qc is better... i dought it..... but i hope..

Didn't know they were that bad...I've always had luck with the few pieces I've bought (not very many over a 25 years period). My favourite piece was the krc 999 tape deck from c. 1987. Got it off a buddy, for 200.00 who had a little brain and lots of credit...i think he paid 1200.00 for it 6 months prior...that was a nice deck!

It's unfortunate that the RMA, or Return rate lately is as high as you claim, because frankly, Kenwood has always been good to me and lately they are some of the nicest (physically) looking single Din head units available. I just wish they would offer something a little higher end in the Excelon lineup similar to a P800PRS or even 9887.

Lastly... What ever gave you the impression that Future Shop was ever a high end store to begin with ?......lol

YOU don't like Kenwood or you don't like working with it or what?
Kenwood has a lot of well-respected, easy to use decks out there. , my first deck was a Kenwood and it was probably the best investment I made and was suggested to me at the retail level.

Future Shop and Best Buy have a lot of returns, period. For stupid reasons too. I'm surprised they don't have a 5 day return period, not a 14-day return period because the bullshit they must deal with is unimaginable.
There's ALWAYS open box items in-store for sale.

Anyways, if you don't like Kenwood I'd give it a chance, that's all.

i agree with the 5 day policy just to many back yard hacks putting in equipment and wrecking it, or installing it wrong and they dont get all the benefits of the unit so they return it... but man all we did was send out kenwood for skipping, blown outputs, speakers cooked, amps smoked, or noisy, just trying to remember from 5 yrs ago.... i guess if you sell enough product there are going to be some people who are going to like the gear.. to me its the same as sony...

my 4channel is made in 1998 and its still running today and sounds good too.

i find that FS and BB can carry some nice stuff but they never have the full lines.. like alpine at FS. no type X? thats BS. or BB without the JBL MKII subs thats BS too.

they will both sell only the crap end of companys and then they wonder y they dont sell or theres alot of returns

and btw y did they ditch the mb quarts lineup. or rockford even, nice amps there

Hey now, not everyone can carry Ultimate, MA Audio, Kaption, or similar brands you will find in any independent store... FS carries consumer driven product. People looking for high end or exotic lines don't find themselves there.

And goalie35 just likes to hate on Kenwood. Personally I like their product but find it a little hard to use sometimes.
